All about metaRL

metaRL is an online web service for people who play the online communities Second Life, Entropia, Habbo, World of Warcraft, and IMVU, and are having a hard time earing any virtual money.

As a member, I can say, without the shadow of a doubt, that earning money in metaRL is as easy as falling off a log. There are actually several ways to earn metaPoints (mP), which can be transfered into your game account, earning you either free Linden Dollars, free Peds, free Habbo Coins, free WoW Gold, or free IMVU Credits.

The first, and most fun-filled, method of earning mP is to simply play games. Currently, there are five fully-functioning games: Paper, Rock, Scissors; Slot Machine; Coin Toss; Money Tree (the easiest way to get anywhere from one to five or six free mP); and Crack the Safe (initially, the safe is filled with 100 mP, but for every failed attempt to open the safe, the pot increases by one mP. If you can guess the correct three-digit lock combination, you get everything that's in the safe, which can be hundreds, even thousands of mP, if you're lucky).

Please note that there are a couple of catches that come with the games. One problem with the games is that you can only play them so many times a day. The number of daily plays are:

Paper, Rock, Scissors - 25
Slot Machine - 25
Coin Toss - 25
Money Tree - 1
Crack the Safe - 5

Another problem is that all the games currently avalible are games of chance; it doesn't matter how skilled you are, you could lose just as easily as you could win. The final problem with the games is that, except for the Money Tree, you have to wager some of your own mP in order to play them.

Four more games are on the site, flash games to be precise, but they're currently in beta testing, and you can't earn any mP yet. I'll update the blog as soon as the games are finished.

The second method is to check out the numerous offers on the website. They're surveys to fill out, groups to join, various offers and trials to sign-up for, and programs to download. The downside to the offers is that the highest paying offers require things like credit cards or cell phones.

Contests are the third method of earning your points. There's a daily lottery, as well as contests for most metaViews, most surveys completed, most referrals (which I'll go over later in the blog), and most comments made to friends. Except for the lottery, your odds can are decided by how hard you work to win the contest. Also, all the contests are free to enter.

The fourth method is to complete the tasks offered to you by metaRL. I'm not gonna list the tasks this time around, but I will say that one of the tasks is to create a blog that supports metaRL, such as the one you're reading now.

The fifth and final method of earning points is to refer other people metaRL. Refering people is as simple as giving your referral URL to your friends, adding it to your profiles, or posting it into your blog. Case in point:

For every person who joins metaRL using you referral URL, you get 50 mP, and there's a special bonus too. Everytime these people earn mP, you get an amount equal to 30% of what they earned; if the members you referred (First Level Referrals) refer someone else (Second Level Referrals), you'll get 20% of what these new members earn. Let's face it, when it comes to referrals, there's no way anyone can lose; on top of that, you'll be getting money all the time, even when you're asleep!
